‘Ne Zha 2’ Crosses $1B At China Box Office; First Movie Ever To Milestone In A Single Market
Shortly after setting a new benchmark as the highest-grossing film in a single market worldwide, Chinese film Ne Zha 2 has become the first film to surpass $1 billion in a single market.
As we previously mentioned (see below), the Great Wall had written that Ne Zha 2 would hit the milestone in China, where it had grossed 7.58 billion yuan ($1.04 billion) as of 11:30 a.m. Beijing time on Sunday.
Among other milestones, Ne Zha 2 is the first film outside of Hollywood to join the billion-dollar club and quickly cracked the top 10 animated films of all time worldwide. It is the 13th film to surpass $1 billion outside of North America.
